About the site
My Antipode shows what lies on the opposite side of the Earth from any place and helps you get there: the globe, flights and one page for every route.
What the site does
Pick a city or let the browser find you, and the globe turns to the point straight through the planet: the antipode. Most of it is ocean, so the site also names the nearest town on land and how far it is.
Every route has its own page: distance, flight time, whether there is a non-stop flight, the cheapest months and the airports on both ends. The search shows live fares for your dates.
How the antipode is found
The antipode has the opposite latitude and the longitude shifted by 180 degrees. For 55.75 N, 37.62 E (Moscow) that is 55.75 S, 142.38 W, in the Pacific Ocean. Distances are measured along the Earth's surface in a straight line between city centres.
Cities, their population and coordinates come from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0). Flight times are estimates from the distance; real schedules vary.
Where the fares come from
Fares on route pages are the lowest one-way fares found in other travellers' searches, collected through the Travelpayouts partner network. Each fare says when it was found; older fares are marked with the date or left out. A fare on a page is not a promise that a ticket is on sale at that price now.
Prices in other currencies are converted at the daily exchange rate (Rates By Exchange Rate API).
How the site earns
Tickets are sold by airlines and agencies, and hotels are booked on Ostrovok. When you follow a button to a seller and buy there, the seller pays us a partner commission. The price for you stays the same.
We do not change fares and do not sort pages by commission: pages show the lowest fares we have found. There is no advertising on the site. What the site keeps about visitors is described on the privacy page.
